Montgomery College publicizes information from various businesses, foundations, and civic organizations about scholarships they offer to students. The College is not affiliated with these groups and does not endorse their products or services. Never pay a fee to apply for a scholarship. The links are active at the time the information was received. If you find a link not working, please try to search by the name of the scholarship and also alert our office.

Herb Block Foundation Scholarshipsnew window

Deadlines: June 1 for fall semester and November 10 for spring semester
Established in 2005, The Herb Block Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school graduates, community college students, and adult learners who wish to continue their studies at Washington, D.C. area community colleges. 

LA Tutors 123 Innovation in Education Scholarshipnew window
Deadline: 20th of each month
Entrants must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others (e.g., a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) and must submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation. Entrants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or the equivalent)  and be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada.

Criteria of who can apply:

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must be a permanent legal U.S. resident physically residing in the fifty United States of America or a holder of a valid student visa
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in agricultural sciences and other related studies
  • Must provide a 500-word essay on or before the Deadline: of December 31, 2025

  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in agricultural sciences at accredited colleges or universities in the United States.

Mann Lake Beekeeping Scholarshipnew window

Application criteria:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States or hold a valid student visa
  • Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Must be a student/enrollee of any of the following: entomology program, major in agriculture & environmental sciences, or other related studies

The Generation Hope Scholar Programnew window
Deadline: April 1, 2025; priority consideration for those who apply by February 1, 2025.

Generation Hope is now accepting applicants for their Scholar Program, which provides wraparound support to young parents working towards their college degrees. Parents accepted into Generation Hope's program receive up to $2,400/year in scholarship funding, one-on-one mentoring, case management, free mental health support, career coaching, tutoring, and emergency funding as needed, and access to additional parenting support including free books, home visiting, and childcare assistance. To be eligible, applicants must have been pregnant or expecting at 19 or younger, currently be 25 or younger, live within 50 miles of DC, and be attending/planning to attend a nonprofit college seeking an associate's and/or a bachelor's degree.

To be eligible to apply for the Scholar Program, you must meet the six requirements below. For eligibility-related questions, please email caroline@generationhope.orgnew window.

  • Teen Parents: Be a teen parent (any gender; defined as pregnant/expecting by age 19) and 25 or younger at the time of application.
  • Attending or Planning to Attend a Non-Profit College: Attend a non-profit collegenew window starting the Fall 2025 semester within our service area (50 miles from the program city) and seek a two- or four-year (Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s) degree.
  • Minimum Credits: Be taking or planning to take a minimum of 6 credits each semester, working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Submit a Copy of Student Aid Report/FAFSA: If a U.S. citizen or Permanent Legal Resident, submit a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) or proof of FAFSA submission.
  • Actively Involved Parents: Raising or actively involved in your child's life (defined by regular support and care of your child).
  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, or have DACA status: Be a U.S. citizen, permanent U.S. resident, have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, or any other status that provides in-state tuition and work eligibility.

Esperanza Fund Scholarship Applicationnew window

The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Foundation Scholarshipnew window
You may apply at their site between December 1, 2024 and March 29, 2025.

To qualify for The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Undergraduate Scholarship Program in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland, applicants must be US citizens or US Permanent Resident and must enroll in the University of Maryland, George Mason University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College, Montgomery College, Virginia Commonwealth University and University of the District of Columbia. 

Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter 2025 Scholarshipnew window

Application Criteria: applicant must

  • Be an adult at least 5 years out of high school.
  • All adult learning candidates must be a resident currently living or enrolled in school in a city within the chapter’s service areas: Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Darnestown, Seneca, Poolesville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, or Rockville.
  • Plan to be enrolled in an accredited institution by Fall 2025, seeking a Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree.

The IFMA Foundation Scholarship Capital Chapternew window

Eligibility Requirements for applicants:

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited institution for Facility Management, the built environment, or related field. “Degree” (Associate, Bachelor, and Graduate) is determined by your institution at the time of application submission.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 in FM or related courses. For international students, equivalent documentation of academic achievement level equivalent to a 4.0 GPA. See International Grade Equivalencies as a basis to determine eligibility.
  • Applicants awarded a scholarship are required to attend IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo and participate in the IFMA Foundation activities in Minneapolis, MN from September 15-19, 2025.
  • • Working students and veterans are encouraged to apply. Students from all parts of the world are invited to apply.

Dunkin’ Scholarshipnew window

Applicants to the Dunkin’ Baltimore/Metro DC Regional Scholarship Program must:

  • Be current undergraduate students or high school seniors who plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • High school seniors must be residents of one of the eligible municipalities listed.
  • Undergraduate students must attend school in one of the eligible municipalities listed.
  • Students must show a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) or higher to be eligible.

Eligibility:

The program is open to legal residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. who are at least 18 years old. Between December 2024 and August 2025, they must graduate with an associate’s degree in business or technology from a community college, have a minimum 3.3 GPA and intend to attend a four-year college or university beginning in fall 2025.

Eligibility:

Each entry must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Must be accepted to a U.S. based university or college
    (scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to your school)
  • All fields of study are eligible
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States
  • Must submit a written essay between 800 - 1,250 words
  • Must provide at least two completed letters of recommendation
