The Monday Minute with Dr. Williams

Monday Minute

May 11, 2026

We have reached finals week, and the finish line for the spring semester is now within reach. I am grateful for the focus, determination, and care our students, faculty, and staff have shown throughout the term. Your collective efforts reflect what makes Montgomery College such a strong and supportive community.

New Transfer Partnership Expands Degree Pathways
Montgomery College and Susquehanna University have established a new articulation agreement through The Momentum Program: The Montgomery–Susquehanna Transfer Advantage. This partnership creates a streamlined pathway for students to complete their bachelor’s degrees at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Qualified students will benefit from guaranteed admission, financial aid, on-campus housing, and access to counseling services that support timely degree completion. MC has a long history of successfully preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions. Students can learn more about how to transfer and see a full list of transfer agreements on Transfer Planning webpage new window.

Backpacks On The Go: Behind The Scenes Heroes

Backpacks on the Go Featuring Dr. Williams and Patrick McNair

Behind every student success story at Montgomery College are dedicated employees whose work makes a meaningful difference each day. In the latest Backpacks on the Go new window episode, I visited the Cybersecurity Lab at the East County Education Center and met Patrick McNair, whose work with technology supports student access to one of today’s fastest-growing fields. He represents the many individuals across our College who contribute to student success in essential ways. I invite you to watch the episode and to share story ideas for future episodes, including behind the scenes heroes across our College, through our online form new window.

Ballot Boxes Available Across The College
The Montgomery County Board of Elections has approved ballot drop boxes at Montgomery College campuses for the 2026 primary and general elections. These boxes provide convenient access for students, employees, and community members to return their ballots where they learn and work. Drop boxes were delivered to the Rockville, Germantown, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses last week and will remain available through 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25. A full list of drop box locations across the county, including those at Montgomery College, is available online new window. Supporting civic engagement is a key college priority, and we are pleased to offer this resource once again.
