Montgomery College earned 15 Medallion Awards last week from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR), recognizing excellence in marketing and communications that connect audiences with the College's educational opportunities, student experiences and outcomes. The awards were presented during the 2026 NCMPR District 1 Conference, held Oct. 14-16 in Buffalo, N.Y.
Montgomery College received seven Gold, five Silver and three Bronze Awards, the most Medallion Awards in the College's history. These accolades build on the team's recognition earlier this year as NCMPR's inaugural National Team of the Year, and honor excellence across integrated marketing campaigns, digital experiences, photography, video, social media and strategic communications.
Together, the award-winning projects demonstrate how Montgomery College is bringing its brand promise, "Exceptional Education. Extraordinary Outcomes.", to life through compelling storytelling, creative execution and audience-centered engagement.
Among the Gold Award winners were the College's “Proving What's Possible” marketing campaign and landing page, which highlight the value and possibilities of a Montgomery College education, and “Eleva Tu Futuro,” a Spanish-language podcast celebrating the stories of immigrants and children of immigrants whose experiences at MC helped them achieve their goals and contribute to their communities. Other recognized projects include the “This Is What Extraordinary Looks Like” campaign, featuring authentic student stories and outcomes; financial aid videos designed to help students navigate educational opportunities; and communications showcasing the College's innovative response to workforce challenges.
"These awards recognize the exceptional creativity and strategic thinking of our Marketing and Communications team, but what makes this work meaningful is the purpose behind it," said Mary DeLuca, associate senior vice president for marketing and communications. "We're not simply telling the Montgomery College story. We're helping people see what's possible for themselves here. Through authentic storytelling and compelling creative work, we're connecting more people with the opportunities and extraordinary outcomes a Montgomery College education makes possible."
MC multimedia content producer Carolina Galeano and multimedia producer/director Danielle Stescki also presented to conference attendees on the College's three original podcasts: “Eleva Tu Futuro,” “Atletas Sin Barreras” and “Beyond the Classroom.” Their presentation highlighted how MC is using podcast storytelling to reach distinct audiences, elevate diverse voices and create meaningful connections with the communities it serves. The podcasts are available through the MCTV podcast collection.
NCMPR's Medallion Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in marketing, design and communications among community and technical colleges across its seven districts. District 1 includes institutions throughout the Northeastern United States, portions of Canada and the United Kingdom. NCMPR is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges.
